Where do you live (City, State, or Country)? Los Angeles, CA
Your script or media entry stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your project ? Assisted suicide is a theme I care a lot about. I believe that in certain circumstances of extreme sufferance, the choice to end your own life should be personal and without judgment.
How long did it take you to write your script...and what was your development process? I wrote the first draft about two years ago and I kept polishing it after receiving notes from peers and mentors. The End-All was also part of the Orchard Program Episode Lab 2024.
What is your ultimate ambition as a writer or filmmaker? Selling scripts and making movies or TV shows that will spark a conversation about themes I care about.
Which film directors or screenwriters inspire you? Why? Martin McDonagh is my favorite writer. He’s an exceptional playwright and screenwriter. I love how he peppers humor in stories that are deeply dramatic.
What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show? Picking one movie is impossible, but The Rocky Horror Picture Show is one I never get tired of. So many favorite TV shows, I loved Bad Sisters and Adolescence to mention one.
What advice do you have for others hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Join a writers’ group, have your script read by mentors, be open to notes. Good notes really help with rewriting. It would be great to write an awesome first draft, but it usually never happens.
What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? My latest short film TEETH is doing well at festivals and it’s great to see people’s reactions (it’s a dark, uncomfortable piece). One of my plays (a comedy) will be produced in Italy next year and I optioned a horror feature that hopefully will be shot in October.
