Pacific Palisades, California Your script or media entry stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your project ? I had the idea for the pilot a while back. My motivation was to have some fun and create something that was crazy and off the beaten path that would make people laugh. How long did it take you to write your script or produce your pitch deck/sizzle reel/trailer...and what was your development process? The script went through many iterations before I discovered all the ways a writer can get their work critiqued. Some people loved it and some people couldn’t understand my vision so it took some time to get it into its current form. What is your ultimate ambition as a writer or filmmaker? I’d like to be in the writers room of the show I wrote the pilot for. Which film directors or screenwriters inspire you? Why? Jonathan Lynn, Martin Brest, Dean Parisot, Seth Gordon What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show? My Cousin Vinny. Midnight Run. Galaxy Quest. Horrible Bosses. Modern Family. What advice do you have for others hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Believe in what you’re doing, but be open to well intended and intelligent criticism. Also consider if you want to stay in the same lane everybody else is in, or if you want to find your own road and maybe break some rules. If you do the same thing everyone else is doing it might be harder for your work to stand out from the pack. What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? I am working on a screenplay about aged superheroes who are past their prime, suffering the indignities of aging and indulging too heavily on beer, weed and donuts. They are confronted by a super bad guy and they have to figure out how to fight him. |
