![]() Where do you live (City, State, or Country)?
I grew up in the South Bronx, New York City. I now live in Yonkers New York, Westchester County. Your script or media entry stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your project ? My inspiration is based on my 20 years of service with the NYPD. My focus is on the WOMEN of the NYPD. They are talented, professional and the best at what they do. I look forward to telling their stories. I want little girls of all races to know, they too can be heroes. How long did it take you to write your script or produce your pitch deck/sizzle reel/trailer...and what was your development process? It took a few years to get it right. I wanted to realistically depict the complicated yet authentic life of a female Detective. I am keeping in mind the times we currently live in. I felt this was a timely story, with strong female audience appeal. My female lead is someone who won’t back down. What is your ultimate ambition as a writer or filmmaker? I will write scripts that will not insult the intelligent audience of today. My scripts will take in consideration the fact that the audience is much more knowledgeable of police procedures, than in the past. The audience has been educated by COURT TV, COPS, THE FIRST 48 HRS, FORENSIC FILES and the 24hr NEWS CYCLE. In addition to numerous unscripted police and mystery crime shows. Which film directors or screenwriters inspire you? Why? Director & Screenwriter – FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA – (GODFATHER FILMS) He never leaves you wondering about any of his characters, there are no loose ends. Screenwriter & Director – SYLVESTOR STALLONE – (ROCKY MOVIES) He always brings out the emotion in his scripts. He makes you feel with choice scenes. You always remember certain monologues from the movie. What’s your all-time favorite movie or television show? My all time favorite movie is THE GODFATHER. My favorite TV cop drama is HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREETS. What advice do you have for others hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? This is easy to say, very hard to do. Never quit, believe in your story, don’t listen to anyone who tells you to move on to another story. Write what you know and love. What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? I’m in negotiations with a producer to start principal photography of LENA’S RULES this year. I am also going to be working as a Police Tech Advisor and Script Consultant, on a feature film called THE PATROLMAN later this year. Where can the world find you?
