Where do you live (City, State, or Country)?
Denver, CO and Palm Springs Your script or media entry stood out among hundreds of others. What was the inspiration for your project ? Having lived through and lost many friends to the AIDS epidemic, I felt it was time to revisit this era and honor those who struggled. How long did it take you to write your script or produce your pitch deck/sizzle reel/trailer...and what was your development process? I started work on this script in 2018. I've brought this script to many workshops and was lucky to attend Stowe Story Labs in Ireland last Fall where I met with fellow writers and mentors who provided me with invaluable feedback on taking this script to the next level. What is your ultimate ambition as a writer or filmmaker? As a writer, I hope to have this work optioned, allowing me to bring my other projects to light. Which film directors or screenwriters inspire you? Why? Kubrick and Kurosawa are directors who have always inspired me. Their ability to create work that has lasted and speaks to say many is a testament to their mastery of storytelling. What's your all-time favorite movie or television show? My favorite film is High and Low by Akira Kurosawa. What advice do you have for others hoping to win a contest or place as a finalist as you have? Persevere, write daily and network with other writers. Strive to get to the heart of your story. What else are you working on that the world needs to know about? I am retooling a feature that I started last Summer. Without giving too much away, it tells the tale of a reclusive former punk rock star who must reconnect with his past in order to move on with his future. Where can the world find you?
